Victory Philosophy

John Donne, a famous English poet, once wrote, “No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.” Victory Lacrosse is a safe place where your young man can discover that masculinity is bestowed not given. Victory is a place for your son to become a part of something larger than himself, a place to be a Teammate, Brother, Patriot, and Victor. Victory helps young men answer the questions that all boys are longing to ask. Do I have what it takes? Am I powerful?

Victory’s proven method of using the game of lacrosse and the teaching of the Victory Way of Living Life will help your son answer those important questions.

Coaches, mentors and fathers involved with Victory will lay a foundation for a young boy’s heart, and pass on to him life’s essential knowledge and confidence in his strength. This confidence will come from learning:

1) How to build healthy relationships with teammates and opponents alike.
2) Working for a cause bigger than themselves.
3) Accepting responsibility.
4) Leading courageously.
5) Enacting justice on behalf of others.
6) Empathy for those in need.
7) The three myths of masculinity and how to recognize and deal with them.

The goal of Victory is the transformed heart. We move from a boy who needs rules, guidelines and laws to a man who lives by the Spirit of the rules, guidelines and laws. This transformation creates a place where a young man can live freely, where he can be animated and motivated by good. As the author Gil Bailie once said “Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people (our boys) who have come alive.” Please join us in this quest to teach our sons to live to become Victors.
